This forum has helped me so much over the past few years that I promised to help by sharing my story

Adjustment of status thru marriage
Filed October 2017
Interview date 7/16/19 at federal plaza

Interview day: it took us about 2 hours to be called in . We had a very nice officer who was genuinely kind. First she asked for some documentation’s , passports , marriage license , my wife’s proof of citizenship etc. then she asked us some questions like “what time was your kids born, how did I propose, in-laws name, last time we say them , how was our first date , birthdays , how was our daily schedules - what time we go to work , what time we came back “ we had submitted a ton of documents when we filed and she didn’t asked for much more today, only the 2018 joint filed taxes . Then she asked the I495 questions (yes /no) and we were done

In the end she gave us a paper saying we would hear within 120 days but 30 minutes after we left the building we received a txt message saying “your card is being produced” we were so happy and pleasantly surprised.

After 22 years I am finally getting over this ! So happy

So for anyone there waiting the advice is
1) be patients
2) always tell the truth
3) of you marriage is legit , nothing to be worried about (easier said than done )
4) there are very nice officers out there doing great work

We applied thru a great law firm that was amazing
