I-485 approved, Brooklyn
Hi all,
This forum was very helpful on getting information and sharing experience. It is my turn to share mine. Today I had interview in federal plaza (Brooklyn filler). and I got approved on spot. Me and my wife got there an hour sooner . Here is my time line:
PD: April 6th-2018.
RFE received May 18-2018 (We got RFE since I forgot to include my tax return and my wife could not work full time in 2017).
October 5th- Ready to be schedule for interview.
July 25th: interview.
July 25th: New card is being produced.

Background about me and my wife (US citizen)
I came to US with full scholarship for PhD studies. My wife was 4th year PhD student and we met each other at grad college. A year later, I got fellowship from NYU and I moved NYC, but she had to stay to finish her program. We dated long distance for a year and then she moved to NYC and we live together since 2017. She is executive director and I am teaching as university here. We did not have attorney for any process.

Interview experience:
A very nice and professional lady guided us to her room. The whole process of interview did not take more than 15 min. She first confirmed our identity, then she asked me Yes,No questions. She then turned to my wife and ask just three questions: 1- How did you meet each other 2-How was your wedding (it was small in court with close relatives) 3-Were are you working.
And that was it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing more, and she said I am going to approve you today! She said since we married more than two years (2 years and 1 month), I will get 10 years GC and she told me apply for citizenship in 3 years!! We came home (took an hour), and at the very moment we entered our home, I got update that "New card is being produced".
I think the lady totally went through our stuff before our interview and she decided to approve us even before interview begin. She did not challenge us at all and mostly talk to my wife (cheap chatting).
My advise to anyone that is filling now is to include Bona Fide documents as much as you can in your application, because it has effect on the initial assessment of your application by officer.
Anyone is waiting for interview, this process of interview is not difficult at all if you are legit! Be confidence and communicate with the officer and do not interrupt your spouse conversation with officer. Even if she/he saying something wrong, just wait when the conversation is done, then correct it.
Good luck to all.
