Re-entering the US with AP/combo card
This is in response to several posts asking about using AP to travel internationally. My husband just used his AP after traveling to Latin America for several weeks. He entered Houston and the whole process took 5-7 minutes with the immigration officer. He said they carefully checked his passport, scanned the AP/combo card, scanned his fingerprints to confirm his identity and that was it. He never even had to go to a second room to confirm the validity of the combo card, so I assume they have that technology available with the front line officers. Hope that helps.
