Attended my H1b extension in Montreal on 8/6/19. I had another one is Ottawa last year and this was pretty similar.
The process described in other experiences is accurate, my appointment time was 12:30, everyone was asked to form a line outside and wait irrespective of appointment time. I got in around 12:45pm, first there is a security check. Those with a cell phone were asked to turn it off but keep it with them. Then you take an elevator to the 19th floor where the first window is a document check and the next is fingerprints. The interview is very straightforward, I was asked where I am working, where i completed my education and training. The officer asked for my 797, no other documents were requested. He said my case was not found in PIMS (my interview was a little over 3 weeks after my case was approved). Said I would get passport max 1 week after interview.

8/6: status changed to AP same afternoon
8/7: no change to status
8/8: Issued at 11 AM, received postal notification with tracking number within the hour.
Expecting pickup tomorrow.
