Hello Everyone,
I got my AOS interview last week( marriage based)
I am the beneficiary and my spouse is the US citizen
my timeline :
-PD: Jan 2019
- Bio: Feb 2019
- ready to be scheduled for interview: may 2019
interview scheduled : June 2019
Innterview: Aug 2nd 2019
I provide the officer with the following:
- Original documents :(our birth certificates,marriage certificate, our IDs, ...etc)
- Apartment lease with both our names
- car insurance, apartment insurance with both our names
- Joint bank account with both our names
-Credit cards,check book
- pay stubs of my spouse (I don't have EAD yet)
- Tax returns of my spouse
-mails coming to home with both our names
-Almost 800 photos of us with our family and friends
-our whats app chats
-Facebook posts
The interview was terrible, the officer put us under high pressure, was rushing to get us out, I was trying to stay calm all the time .
He doesn't even want to listen to us, just collecting papers,probably because he has a lot of cases to review that day. I don't know but he seems to be like that with every couple.
Questions:
-How we met?when? where? answered perfectly
-why you got married so soon after your divorce ? (we dated for 6 months then got married) I was officially divorced recently before marriage but I was separated long time ago, almost two years ago and this relation should be ended at anytime. He didn't even want to listen to our explanation
- then he went through the i485 form and I answered perfectly
at the end he even didn't give us the white paper that shows that the interview is completed
or give us any respond
he just told us if we need anything else from you we will send it to your house mail.
and that's it.
My attorney was there with me and didn't say a word. probably she wouldn't wanna make it worse for us. I don't know.
That was in Green plaza, NY
I am so frustrated and down because we didn't expect the interview to be this way.
especially we were Excited , confident ,we were really well prepared and our families were excited for us.
