H1B, H4 Visa

I got lot of help and information from this website and therefore, I would like to share my experience as well.

Consulate: Mumbai
Bio-metrics - Aug 6th
Visa Interview - Aug 7th

Few important points:
1. If you are attending visa interview in Mumbai, there is a cloak room near the visa consulate which is run by Mumbai police. This is a white van parked under a tree. As this is run by Mumbai police it is totally safe and very reasonable price. You can google to see the authenticity of this info, but I have used this service by them. They charge around Rs.10 per item.
2. Be 1 hour early near the consulate and stand in the line which is divided based on appointment time.
3. If you are travelling with spouse and kid, a small purse is allowed. Please read the instructions carefully before going.
4. Follow the instructions given by staff.

Experience:

Me: Good Morning
VO: Passports please

Me: All three?
VO: Yes

VO: What is your highest qualification?
Me: XYZ

VO: Which place are you going?
Me: Told the city name

VO: Are you from ABC Company?
Me: Yes

VO: Have you been to US before?
Me: Yes

VO: How long did you stay?
Me: Told the duration

VO: What was the your longest stay in US?
Me: Told the duration of longest stay

Now VO turns to my wife and asks;

VO: Have you been to US before?
Wife: Answers his question

VO: Have you been to any other country before?
Wife: Answers question

VO to my 4 years old daughter: Are you Ms A?
My daughter stares at him.

VO: Is he your Dad?
Daughter: Nods positively with a smile and he smiles back.

Now VO types something on his computer and says “Your visa is approved” and retains passports.
