Process:
Step 1:
Queue up outside the office. Ours was a 8.45 am appointment, reached around 8.20 am. Really no point in reaching hours earlier. You can get in only after they verify your appointment time. Even if there is a long queue security guards call out appointment times.
Security guard verifies passport for identity. They have a list of people expected.
Step 2:
Inside the office, you are physically checked. No cell phones, smart watches etc.
Step 3:
They verify your DS 160 confirmation page and passport. Affix a bar-coded sticker behind your passport
Step 4:
More verification of documents: I797A, Status in Canada, Passport.
Step 5: Finger printing
Step 6:
Interview. Questions were:
1. Work location and employer
2. Who is the client?
3. How long have you worked for this client?
4. Designation?
5. Salary?
To spouse;
1. How long have you been married?
2. Kids?
Visa approved, will take 3-5 business days.
Time Taken: 8.30am entry inside to 10.20am exit
Parking tip if you are driving: Make use of Impart Parking (206 Simcoe St, Toronto, ON M5T 1T4). Right outside the embassy office. $20 for parking till 7pm.
