AOS Chicago
Hi,

I applied for an adjustment of status on january 2019.
I was in the US on the Visa Waiver Program. I never overstayed.

They received my applications on January the 26th.
They sent me a notice on February the 14th.
I had my biometrics appointment on March the 5th.
I received a courtesy letter on June the 30th about my medical exam. They asked me to bring a new one to my interview appointment.
I received the notice for initial interview on July the 23rd.
Interview scheduled on August the 21st.
I received my EAD the same day!

The interview went well. The officer was professional and nice. He asked me to confirm my full name, date and place of birth. He asked me if i have my original birth certificate. I gave him. He also asked some questions that are on the i485 form (yes/no).
He didn't ask too much personal questions. He only asked us how we met and if we did a big wedding (we didn't). He asked my husband what is his job.
He didn't ask for it but i gave him a photo album. My husband and i travelled a lot so we had a lot of pictures in different places. We also had some pictures with family and friend. He didn't ask any questions about the photos but he said that they were nice.
We don't have any joint bank account or insurance because i don't have any social security number. We showed him our lease with both our names, a bill showing that he pays for my phone line, an email of a travel reservation with both our names..
I wanted to give him my husband's last tax return and his last pay stubs but he said that it wasn't necessary.

And that's it. He gave us a notice of interview results and told us that he has to make a security check to see if we didn't forget anything and then he was going to approve it.
The next day, i checked our case status and it said that on the 21st (so the day of the interview), a new card is being produced.
On the 22nd, it said that my cases (i485 and i130) were approved.

Voilà.

If your marriage is real, you really don't have to worry. Don't stress and be confident. Everything will be ok.
