F1 student filed for AOS, but sponsor in my I-20 is not my spouse
Hello everyone,

I am an F1 student who’s filed for AOS, everything seems to be fine at this time because I just submitted RFE for birth certificate and USCIS received it, so I just need to wait for the interview appointment. Also, my I-20 is still active because I keep going to school for full time. However, there is a silly question pops up in my mind and the question is, is it okay if the sponsor in my I-20 is not my husband? It is his mother (my mother-in-law), who got the same last name with my husband and we all live in the same house. Do I need to change a sponsor on my I-20 to be my husband’s name?

Ps. My mother-in-law is not a co-sponsor for applying adjustment of status because my husband’s income meets poverty guideline.

Thank you for all of you replies in advance. God bless you all!
