Got my green card! Oakland Park FL Field Office
Hey everyone!
I thought I would share my experiences and since I have my green card in hand, it only seems appropriate since this forum was SO HELPFUL for me.
My case is for F1 – Unmarried Sons and Daughters of U.S. Citizens (21 and over). Hopefully this benefits anyone in my situation. Field Office – Oakland Park FL.
I-130 Priority Date: March 06, 2012
I-130 approved: December 13, 2013
I went back to school and was here from August 2014 on a student visa (visa valid until October 31, 2017).
OPT application & EAD: October 2017
OPT EAD (I-765): Valid from January 9, 2018 to January 8, 2019
Based in Visa Bulletin for July 2018, my I-130 PD was current for AOS Filing.
I-131, I-485, I-765: Receipt date August 18, 2018 & USCIS Submitted Date of August 28, 2018 (Filed with attorney)
Courtesy letter to complete I-693 (Medical): October 9, 2018
Biometrics appointment: November 9, 2018
Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview: November 16, 2018
I-485 & I-765 Fingerprint review was completed November 28, 2018
New Card Is Being Produced (Combo card EAD & Travel Document): February 14, 2019
Case Was Approved (Combo card EAD & Travel Document): February 15, 2019
Card Was Mailed To Me (Combo card EAD & Travel Document): February 20, 2019
Interview Was Scheduled (I-485): July 11, 2019
***NOTE: Interview was scheduled based on my I-130 priority date. My PD became current for final action in the July 2019 Visa Bulletin***
Interview date: August 26, 2019 (was not approved on spot)
New Card Is Being Produced: August 28, 2019
Case Was Approved: August 29, 2019
Card Was Mailed To Me: August 30, 2019
Card Was Picked Up By USPS (tracking information available): September 3, 2019
Approval notice received in mail: September 4, 2019
Card Was Delivered To My Attorney’s office: September 5, 2019
Green card in my hands (they called me same day for me to collect): September 5, 2019.
Can’t even believe this process is over. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve looked at this card over the last 24 hours – took almost 8 years.
