My experience at Chennai Consulate: (H1B Visa renewal)

Interview Time: 11:15AM, reached there by 10AM, started in the actual line at 10:30AM (keep in mind that they might call you 45 mins before the interview depending on the number of applicants..so keep an eye on the guy shouting for current time slot applicants)

1st counter: Checked Interview appointment letter + CEAC Barcode confirmation letter - got the Token Number

Passed security check (the guy asked for photo CDs, sealed envelopes which are NOT ALLOWED - keep all your paper work easily accessible (unsealed))

2nd Counter: Waited for my turn at Counter 2..Make sure you don't sit idle when you see your number displayed at the counter. Stand and wait for your turn. The lady checked my I797 + passport and took my fingerprints and told me to go to the next building.

3rd Counter: I just had to wait for 5 more minutes for my turn here. The officer was pretty cool. He asked me how long I have been with my employer and asked me to show Client letter, Pay Stubs and W2. That's about it.
Good Luck for you all! and Great thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences.
