Interview:
We arrived 30 minutes earlier both of us well dressed. We waited about 45 minutes before we were called by a very kind and very professional female IO.
After going through the original birth certificate, original divorce paper(we both previously were married and have children) and original marriage license
She asked us:
- About our relationship: When and where we met, how long we dated and why we decided to get married.
- She asked about our Kids names and ages
- She asked to see Joint document ; we submitted:
Joint Bank account (with a pretty decent amount, I guess we wanted to impress)
2018 Joint Tax return
Affidavit of family and friends Marriage statements
Joint Medical
Retirement Plan
Joint Utility bills
45 photos
She took 10 of our photos from our trip to Europe and the Caribbean.
She went through the document quickly then the conversation get switched to casual. We were talking about the high amount of taxes we pay, about how the process is easier when you have a good job and own your home.... We were at the IO office for like 50 minutes.
At the end she gave us a paper stating that the Petitioner is responsible for the Beneficiary finances and if the beneficiary seek any Government assistance, the Government will get reimbursed by the Petitioner for any amount provided. We thanked her and wished her a wonderful day then we left.
About 2 weeks later from Interview, we received the GC.
Online case status never was updated.
