Adjustment of Status - I-485

Hello family, my world crashed yesterday after checking the my case on the case track and saw that a decision has been made on my case and both i130 and i485 were denied. The reason for the denial I don’t know yet but it says online I will get a letter explaining why it was denied and the options I have.
A brief explanation of what transpired. My first interview was in February this year and it all went well. In fact the IO said everything looked good. However, after the interview he asked if we have any question. My wife told him more than 10 years ago she had lied and that was in her record. She told the officer she’s letting him because she didn’t want it affect me. The IO said it might or might not and that if there’s a need for a second interview he’d communicate that to us. We felt good and was happy everything went well. However, 3 weeks after we got a letter for a second interview concerning the i130. My wife wasn’t happy and felt like the IO used her honesty against us. Anyways, we went for the second interview. We waited for almost 2 hours and each time the IO walked past us there was no acknowledgment from him that we’ve been waiting for that long and by this time my wife was already angry. He later came to us and was like I’ll be with you shortly. My wife looked at me and she was like what.. the IO overheard her and looked at her with dislike. Immediately I sensed the hostility towards my wife. After about 15 mins he came and took me to his office. Questioned me intensely for over an hour. By this time my wife had been waiting well over 3 hours. He took me out after we got done and called my wife in. My wife was holding her phone and he screamed at my wife to put her phone away. My wife was upset because she felt disrespected. She told the officer she would like to speak to his supervisor, to which the officer refused. My wife told him she would rather have someone else interview her. The officer refused and my wife walked away. I later was able to talked to the supervisor about the situation. She apologized. I asked if they could reschedule the interview so my wife could do her part of the interview. She said the IO already made us come for 2 interviews and that she wasn’t gonna let the IO call us for a third interview and that they would make decision based on what they have and that if they deny my case there are other ways to go about it. She said the decision is at the discretion of the officer. So after months of waiting I got the denial yesterday. I feel this was a decision in error and out of hostility towards my wife. I intend to appeal the decision. I need you guys advice and guidance on how to go through the process. Thank you very much in anticipation.
