Adjustment of Status - I-485

Family, I use to come here often in 2016 and 2017. I am using a different userID because I forgot the previous one. I Filed in May 2016. My wife was married to another foreigner, they divorced and then she married me. We don’t have kids together.
We went for the first interview in 2017 and my case was pending for review. My wife is 10 years older than me and I had a girlfriend in my home country with 2 daughters. My ex-girlfriend claimmed to be my wife. So we went to the second interview in March 2018 ( they separated us) . The female officer was very rude to me, she even asked me If I was paying child support for my 2 daughters in my home country. Even after the second interview my case was still pending. The officer lied to us that we should hear something soon within 2 weeks. And the time passed by we didn’t hear anything.
I went to see a lawyer, the first lawyer was charging me $11.000 and second lawyer was charging me $9000. I don’t have that kind of money.

We both were hopeless. I stopped coming in this portal.
On june 28, 2019 ( a year later). 2 officers came to our house wearing like FBI with USCIS badges. I was by myself. They took pictures of our bed. Pictures on the wall and asked for my passport. They questioned me about my x-grilfriend and my job etc. At the end The other officer said: it is good that you are here, we are going to make our report and there should not be a reason to delay your case anymore.

10 days later they sent a refferal for a new medical. 12 days later my wife i30 was approved. I didn’t have money for new medical I waited until I got my salary. I submitted the new medical and they received on August 22. Today we received a text message and checked online. CASE WAS APPROVED AND NEW CARD BEING PRODUCED.

Sometimes you don’t need a lawyer. Your spouse has to be willing to help you. I can garantee you if your spouse makes enough phone calls it is more powerful than having a lawyer.

Please stop checking your status online often and don’t waste your time coming here all the time. It may be more stressull when you see people that applied before you being approved and your case still pending.
I highly recommend you to invest in yourself while you wait for your approval: Go on the internet learn something, take online courses, learn Photoshop, learn how to create websites, learn Spanish or something else that you love. Find something to keep you busy. Greencard is a document but your future depends on your skills. You may have greencards if you don’t have skills your greencard is just a paper. Your knowledge is your backup plan for the future with or without greencard. I had this mindset and I didn’t even care anymore if I was not approved.

I know how stressful it is and some people fall into depression. I am here to tell you today, what seems impossible in the eyes of the men it is possible to God. Have faith. I wish you all Good luck. Peace
