Had my marriage-based interview yesterday and went very smoothly but the IO said it had to be held for review by a supervisor. Later, the I-130 was approved.
When I filed my application (almost 2 years ago) I had a pending arrest/criminal charge. Over the processing time I did a plea deal and settled the case with a 'violation' conviction (not a crime in NY law but is in federal). I gave the IO the police report and the certified copy of the court disposition.
Does this mean they have to run the background check again (the initial arrest would have shown up on the original background check)? Are they going to need any more evidence? Has anybody been through something similar?
I am very concerned that this could end up being another year-long affair :\
