H1B, H4 Visa

Time for interview was at 9:15.
Reached in front of the embassy at 9:00
with my wife and two aids.
There was two 1ines from both side of the gate. I
asked the guard which one is for the 9:15 time
slot. He pointed to the one at the left side of the
gate.
We went to the Queue (about 1.5 people where theze
in the queue) and wa1ted for 3 mmn. The same guard came and asked us to move to the gate. ( i assume it is because of my kids we got the priority).

In from of the gate at the counter I gave all the four passports, HDFC receipt, the Confirmation Print out and the Appointment.

The person at the counter asked - How many of you and I said four.

Then I went to the gate and the security told my wife to proceed to the other gate for security checking. This was a surprise for us and hence got confused. My wife, daughter and son went through the other gate. Inside, i told the officer that the passports and documents for my kids and wife is with me and they are coming through the other gate. He collected the passports from me and he went outside and some how made it available to my wife.
I got a TOKEN and after security checking I was asked to proceed to another room. I tried to wait for my family but the security asked me to go and wait inside. I went inside and my family also accompanied me.

We waited there for our Token to be displayed. Finally we saw our token (in 5 min i think) and i went to the counter displayed on the screen. I gave the passport, HDFC Receipt, Confirmation and appointment of all of us, The lady at the counter asked me to show my Form I-797. I handed over that too and she gave it back. She also asked to show my old passport (my B1 visa is in this passport) and that too i gave and she returned it to me.

Asked my wife to place her hand for finger print and then mine. Finally she gave us the file and we walked to the other building for the interview.

On reaching there the seats were all occupied and i finally found few seats and the other end and was about to sit, i noticed our token in the screen and hence without taking the seat i followed to the counter. There was two family in front of me and after both of them finished the interview, we went to the counter.

The officer (lady) at the counter asked me the following:

Good morning
- Goodmorning ma'am.

So you are working for XYZ company
- Yes ma'am I am.

Are you going to work for a client in US
- Yes, I am and I mentioned my clients details

How long you are working with XYZ
- I answered

What is your total Experience
- I answered

What is your higher qualification
- I answered

Do you have a bachelor's Degree
- I answered
Can I see your I- 797
- I handed over the same

It seems you traveled quite often to US
- Yes ma'am and I explained the purpose

Can you show me your B1 Visa
- I gave the passport with that visa and she gave it back

To my wife

When was your marriage
- She answered
Did you ever been to US
- She answered
Only one kid
- My son was standing and hence she couldnt see him. I took him and asked him to greet the officer. My wife was having my daugher in her hands.


Officer showed me a card and asked me whether you read this
- I said no ma'am
She handed over that to me and asked to read
- I spend some time with that(it contains the details of our Rights in US and whom to contact if there is a trouble)

After that when i said i read i ma'am she said, okay you will receive your visa by courier.

That is all (When i came outside it was 10:05 am)
