GC Approved after a year
Hello Guys,

I applied in sept. 2018 for AOS marriage based along with i765 / i131, received EAD/Advance parol in mid April 2019 and interview was also scheduled in April 2019 last week.
Interview went well and interviewer also thanked us for our preparation and filing system. Offcourse my professional experience of Administration came handy while we were filing all documents, she asked us couple more documents and next day we received email notification of RFE.

RFE letter received by second week of May 2019 and very easy and genuine documents requested in that letter which we managed to arrange everything in couple of days and responded to that letter step by step as we did in our initial filing. My wife was being impatient with my documentation style but I was aware what I am doing response to letter add points to the response if you have attached documents what was asked by USCIS and is it original or copy mention it in brackets.
After the response list of attachments with numbers or bullet points. Label all the attachments with comments or attachment numbers same as in response to make it easier for person who will read and cross check the response and attachments.
Response received in 2 days by courier so maximum within 8 days from the RFE was issued we submitted our response to USCIS. After sending the response I waited for about 6 weeks and started calling USCIS to make sure they received my response as there was no acknowledgment of receipt from their side not even in email text or letter. Finally I was transferred to tier 2 Officer he took my details and after a week I received a letter from USCIS saying that they received my response and case is under review this was in mid July 2019.
After that I waited until August for my interview to complete 120 days and again called USCIS couple of times and they asked to wait until 180 days after my interview. So I agreed to their advise and continue waiting finally I received text notification after midnight to check my case status on website and App this happened in beginning of 2nd week of September 2019 luckily I just got up that time to drink water and happened to check my phone as I always keep it on silent mode and far from bed when we are in bed.
Wow case status changed to case approved for both i485 / i130 and next morning also received email notification for same status change. We both were so happy and hugged because with EAD you are restricted for many jobs which we don’t come to know and many big corporate companies avoid hiring EAD holders. Well after a day of approval received updates on card production and usps delivery details and received package exactly after 8 days of approval.
GC in hand (2 years validity) conditional and it’s a relief but if your marriage is genuine and you live with your wife under one roof doesn’t matter what case you filed and which state you live they have to approve you unless you have criminal charges (I don’t have idea of criminal side impact on immigration).

Well an advice just be prepared for your interview, make 2 sets of documents whatever you have submitted in your initial submission and add job letters, emergency contacts details from your job and add your spouse as beneficiary in all your company profile system, add your details in your child’s or step child’s school and get documents from them as well. School admission documents if you or your spouse is going for further studies believe me that helps a lot and in school or university your spouse can add you as emergency contact person and you can add that as well in your documents.
Just make 2 files and add your family pictures after your filing dates whatever occasion or family/friends gathering pictures you have, add them try to make 4 pictures in one A4 edit it through word documentation (use snipping tool) try to write little brief on each paper about the pictures or occasion and who’s who there not too much just keep it simple.
I suggest take all birth certificates of yours and your childrens from first and second marriage if it’s your second marriage.

Just be well dressed in your interview it’s no rocket science they want to know how you live together and what you do at home in your free time try to smile in your interview doesn’t matter if your interviewing officer is serious or grumpy you make him or her look like you are comfortable here and this is easy for you.
Try to talk basic don’t go into details answer point to point no stories.

One big advice start looking for a Job as soon as you receive EAD approval notification don’t wait for the package or social security number to come.
Start with your job search interviews and online applications or start any night jobs in any store or atleast part time jobs in store to keep yourself busy and divert your attention from this immigration process.
Once you start working time flies till you get your interview letter from USCIS. Again prepare for interview one week before your interview date don’t be over confident and wait till last couple of days and then start running around, I started a week before with a list of documents to be filed and I realized just a couple of days before the interview that I haven’t added more documents in the file which was very important for submission, make 2 copies each document a day before of your interview and add table of contents in both files include pictures in same file. Pictures you can prepare as when you have time even a month before your interview that’s what I did no need separate folder for pictures like I said 4 pics in one A4 paper and make it 10 to 12 papers which comes around 45 to 50 pics that’s enough to show you both together with family and friends, but no selfie only both of you don’t add those selfie pics.

This forum really helped me a lot in documentation and until I received my EAD. After I read lots of comments and advice here about interview presentations and experiences I had an idea what will be my experience and I had a great experience right from the parking spot till we completed our interview in USCIS.

Thank you all for your prayers and support.
Good Luck guys!
