Case outside of normal processing time
Hi everyone,
My process has been taking very long, and I am wondering if there is anything more I can do or if anyone is experiencing similar issues.
I am filing in LA and my case is being processed by National Benefits Center.
Dates:
03/05/2019 - Case Received
04/14/2019 - Fingerprint review completed
I am really anxious to get my EAD and my travel document because I am planning to go to my home country with my husband for Christmas holidays, and it is starting to seem like it may not happened. We already naively booked our tickets.
I have submitted two inquiries (for the EAD, I-765), one on August 16th, one on September 16th. I received an update yesterday saying "Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action shortly." It is very frustrating since I haven't been hearing back at all, and now the update I got is.. just wait some more.
Has anyone gotten a similar update? How long did it take for the case to move after you did? I am hopeful that it means something, but I am worried that it has no more meaning than not hearing back at all. Also - is there anything else I can do other than keep filing inquiries? Can my lawyer do anything more than I can?
