I-485 F2B GC timeline
Hello everyone,

Here is my application timeline:

06/10/2019 -- Interview scheduled in Connecticut (CT) ( 6 months? I know it is damn long!)
07/28/2019 -- Interviewed in CT and case got transferred to California (CA)
08/16/2019 -- Interview rescheduled in CA
09/24/2019 -- Interviewed in CA and received "case held for review" letter
09/27/2019 -- Online update: We ordered a new card
09/30/2019 -- Online update: We approved your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status
10/01/2019 -- Online update: Card mailed
10/02/2019 -- Card Was Picked Up By The United States Postal Service
10/04/2019 -- Expected delivery date. ( fingers crossed )

The biggest mistake I made during the GC process is that I should put CA as my mailing address instead of CT. The mailing address should be your current residential address (where you work) not your petitioner's address. The mailing address determines the location of your interview. The officer in CT told me that my case needs to be transferred to CA since she doesn't have jurisdiction right on me. However, the officer in CA told me that the officer in CT could just interview me. ( Maybe she is also confused).

During the interview, the officer checked brith certificate and ensured I have valid status during my stay in the U.S. She also asked my father's proof of divorce. (My father is my sponsor). Nothing else special.

The process took a year, which is longer than I expected. I think the key is to stay calm, follow the right steps and relax!

Good luck to everyone!
