N400/I751 Combo interview
Hello Everyone,

I had my N400/i751 interview two days ago. The officer was nice and he went over the civics questions first. Then he asked me about my marriage. Questions about work history and all the addresses. My wife and I work in two different cities that are 1 hour 30 minutes away from each other because she wants to support her nation (she is native American) and that city is too small for me to get the same salary I get here. I am an engineer. After he asked questions from us (Separately) for two hours he told me that some of my answers do not match my wife's answers. I am really bad for remembering dates. He also brought up two points. First that I am not in a marital union with her. I did research about it. Working in two different cities and visiting your wife at weekends or sometimes even during the week, has nothing to do with marital union or I could be wrong. In our life every thing is share. Our first house with mortgage and our second house with no mortgage. Car insurance. Car titles. We filed taxes since I moved to the US in 2015 together. Bank accounts that we have. The only thing with bank accounts is that my wife stopped contributing money to that account because she moved to a different city but she still has access to the account and she spends money of it. The officer told me this is not a shared account because she is not contributing money. I said but her name is on it and she spends money of this account when she needs to plus I make 3 times more than her. At the end he said he cannot make any decision either about my N400 application or I751. ( I am married to my wife for 4 years).
I did not argue with him because it did not matter what I think about the marital union or a shared account but I do not think that he was right.
Please help me to understand more.
For marital union, did we have to live 24/7 with each other in the same place?
If my wife does not contribute to our share account but she spends of it, we cannot call that a shared account?
I am so confused but I am not nervous.
Thank you for your advice.
