Adjustment of Status - I-485

I have been a silent reader. And I want to thank everyone in this group that shared their stories and gave others hope and faith in this miserable journey (emotional struggle I mean:). And finally it is over for me. I am a very lucky applicant that I got approved green card after 7 months filling date. Here is my timeline. I am married citizen in Dallas, TX. Office interview is Irving.
03/03: filling date
03/08: my case was received (it had stayed in this status for 7 months)
04/04: did biometric
07/26: case was ready to schedule for interview
09/12: SErvice request for employment card and they said they would reply by oct 4 but no respond.
09/25: expedite request for employment card. After that I was required to send a pending job offer letter and my lawyer faxed it for me.
10/19: interview notice mailed to me saying my interview will be in 10/21 (in 5 days) which was not usual since they normally sent 3 week notice so u have time to prepare for your interview. My lawyer and even USCIS office said my interview letter was not formal anw.
10/21: interview. It went well and officer didn’t approve on spot because new rule they r not allowed to say. However, my husband saw him writing ‘approval’ on our package in red pen before we left. And he spent a while after interview to tell me how long i ll receive my green card and apply for 10 yrs green card. So we were pretty sure we passed bcz of all those signs.
10/24: at 11:45pm I got email that my combo card (EAD and green card were being produced).
So if u don’t have employment card like me, don’t be worried. Your time will come and u might get more than u expected. Good luck everyone!
