Removing restrictions on SS card.....
Hi everyone
I received my GC last week so I went to the SSA office to remove the restrictions on my SS card. I brought the form I had filled out, my birth certificate, my SS card and my marriage certificate and of course my GC. All the representative wanted was the form and my GC. I did not need any of the other documents I named before not even my old SS card. She said I will receive my new card in 5-7 days.
This was at the New Haven office in CT so I'm not sure if other states might do things differently.

By the way, I went after work about 2:30pm and that was the best time, the building was almost empty.
