Called USCIS today and VERY SAD
Hi everyone,
I called USCIS today and asked for update information about my pending 485/765 case.
The gentleman is very kind and patient. He told me that since I have an EAD before from my F-1 visa OPT (expired in July), I actually automatically have a 180 days/6 months extension on my expired EAD.
I never heard about this from my immigration lawyer and I had to quit my job back in July because I thought my work permission was end. I feel so sad now about losing my last job...I could have ability to continue working.
I also asked in the phone about I-131 because I want to go back to China for couple days visiting my grandparents. The gentleman said he issued an Advanced Parole Emergency Request for me and someone from USCIS will call me back in about 24 hours.
Anyone has experience about this?
