Case approved!!! San Francisco/Sacramento Filer - marriage based
Hiii friends! I had my interview last Friday, Nov 1st at the Sacramento FO (I posted my interview experience, check my prvs posts pls). I was not approved on the spot but the whole interview was smooth thank God! Of course I was anxiously waiting an update throughout the weekend but didnt get any, neither on the app or USCIS website. So Monday morning I called USCIS and the automated system just said “Interview was scheduled”, then I requested to speak to a rep. The rep checked to see if there was an update to then tell me I was approved!!!! Im so happy! Like I mentioned on my prvs post, I grew up here, I moved to the USA 19 years ago when I was only 14. I haven’t been back to my country (Brazil) since then. Its been a long and hard journey, I lost many work opportunities throughout my life because I wasn’t a permanent resident, I also had to put to “die” one of my biggest dream which was to become a dentist. I went through college got my AA as well as my Bachelors in Biology paying everything out of pocket because although I was always a straight A student i couldn't get any scholarships or financial help due to my immigration status (but yes I paid my taxes since I was 16 yrs old!). I studied full time and worked full time to pay for my school and pay rent, bills and everything else that comes with adult life and still managed to help my family financially. But it got to a point that I couldn't keep going with school because dental school would require 4 years full time (no work) and over $300K in loans. It was hard to give it up because God knows how hard I worked to get through school. I had sooooo many NOs, school wouldn't let me in because i wasn’t a resident, it wasn’t until DACA was signed by Obama that i could actually go to college (i was already 26). And today, Im here celebrating this victory. Yes, I had to go through a lot (like so many of YOU), I had to give up a whole looot BUT God was always there and the best part, it made me a better ME! I learned so much about my faith, about the important things in life, abt taking one day at a time and trust God to lead the way...at the end, things do always work out. Stay strong, persistent, encourage others through your pain and struggles, LOVE your family and Gos above all and enjoy your friends...this life is so short!
Some of my dreams had to die BUT God gave me new dreams!
Im sorry I wrote so much but this forum helped me so so so much and I would love to give it back by helping anybody out there thats feeling down and discouraged through this process.
Good luck guys and ill keep you posted! Also, if there are any questions pls ask away!
