Approved Finally
After 3 long years, I can finally say my immigration battle is somewhat over. Today my green card was approved. Below is my timeline

09/2016: filed the I-130. Mine is a little different because my mother filed for me and not through marriage. I was 20 years and 6 months at that time so the fear of aging and not being considered a "child" out of real!

11/2017: I-130 was approved. This is when the waiting game began. My Priority date was 10/16 and as of 11/2017( when my i-130 was approved; USCIS was working on cases as far back at 2015.

Fast forward 2 looooooong years, and my priority date became current by 01/2019. I Live in Chicago btw and my expectations were super low because of Chicago's processing times 12-36 months.

01/16/2019: Submitted all forms I-131, I-765 and I-485
01/22/2019: Got notification that USCIS had received all documents
02/13/2019: Bio-metric appointment went fine; in and out in less than 30 minutes
05/09/2019: I-765 and I-130 was approved
07/31/2019: case is ready to be scheduled for an interview.
08/06/2019: interview was scheduled
09/10/2019: interview date. Now this where things gets tricky.

Interview went fine; the IO was super chill, asked me and my mother couple of questions; nothing too serious just general chill vibes. We were rounding up the interview when she noticed some extra names on my Birth certificate. I'm Nigerian, so it common practice to have about 5 names on your Birth certificate. She was wondering why i didn't include those names on my application, and all my explanation of i don't go by any of those names and the names i go by are the ones i put down on my i-485 application fell on deaf years. she the said she'd have to review the case and i should hear back in 2 weeks.

09/24/2019: 2 weeks later. Nothing.
10/10/2019: Nothing.
10/11/2019: Contacted my Congresswoman and explained the whole situation to her
10/17/2019: Office of congress woman submitted an inquiry.
11/17/2019: Office of My congresswoman resubmitted and inquiry on my behalf
11/20/2019: USCIS sent her office an email saying " case is still under review by a supervisor"
11/22/2019: I got notification that new card is being produced. yay me!

I lowkey have read almost a thousand experiences on here and I'm really thankful to pages like this for keeping me sane. Goodluck and Godspeed to everyone else who is waiting for some kind of news from USCIS.
