AOS Interview Experience
Hi everyone!

We had the interview for our AOS today and were approved on the spot. Here is my timeline:

I am Canadian and entered the US on a K-1 Visa in Mach 2019 and we were married in May 2019. My husband is a Military Veteran.

Reno, NV Field Office

July 15th - USCIS received i-765 and i-485
August 8th - Biometrics
September 17th - received RFE for Birth Certificate (I sent my original BC but they required the long-form which I sent off to them the same day)
October 2nd - We are ready to schedule your interview for AOS
October 22nd - Interview was scheduled
October 28th - Received letter that interview was scheduled for December 4th.

Our interview was scheduled for 12:15 and we arrived at 11:45. We waited for maybe 10 minutes and we were called in. The IO was very nice, friendly and made us feel very comfortable. The whole interview just felt like a casual conversation.
We had to take an oath and I had my fingerprints scanned. She asked me maybe 20 yes/no questions from the i-485 form.
Next she asked us how we met. We met in South Korea while I was teaching English there and my husband was stationed there with the military. My husband and I told the story together. She really liked our story and thanked us for all the details and said she usually has to ask a bunch of questions in order to get the full story from people.
Then she asked us for any further documentation we wanted to provide. Since I don't have my EAD, we only had a Costco membership, phone bill and gym membership together. I also had 5 notarized letters from close friends and family (our parents, my best friends and my husband's best friend from the military/roommate). It seemed that she really appreciated the letters as she read and kept them all. I believe the letters were super important especially because we don't have much else together yet
Next she asked for photos and we had about 35 for her to look through and she took about 8. She took ones from our wedding with family and ones of us traveling together.
At the end of the interview she said she thought we were an excellent couple and we was going to approve us today. She gave us information on how to remove conditions to my GC and explained how to get a SSN. I should be getting my GC within the next two weeks.

We have been very fortunate that this process has gone so smoothly for us. If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
