Hi everyone,
I am a US citizen who sponsored my husband's status change application. We had our interview on 9/26/19, the officer was nice and positive but didn't say anything on the spot. We haven't heard anything since, and today I saw online that our i-130 has been approved and the i-485 is pending.
Seems like a lot of people are in my situation, but we both have completely clean records: perfect credit, no criminal history, no late payments on credit cards, no encounters with immigration, not even parking tickets or library fines. His US visa was denied once when he was in high school (18 years ago), he applied for a tourist visa to go to a summer program to learn English and was sloppy and didn't have all the document.
Most of the discussion forums I saw said this happens when they need more time to investigate my / our background. What on earth could be holding them back?
what should we do? I'm going to call USCIS this week I think.
