Interview was scheduled at 9am but we got called around 920 am . The immigration officer was a caucasian lady in her 40's, very professional but really nice . We went to the interview with our 2 kids (5 years old and 1 year old) . She was not bothers at all and was even talking to them at times .
As soon as we got to her desk , she swore us in and asked where we met and what language do we speak to our kids at home .Then she proceeded to ask me the yes/no questions on the I485 application which I answered no to all of them except for the transgression of my visa where I answered yes because I overstayed.
Then she asked us :
-where we met?
Then asked me :
-my 2 previous addresses.
-my address back home before coming to the us.
-my parents full name .
-my ex husband name
-when did i get divorce
-when did i get married to my actual husband .
Then asked my husband
-if he is the only one providing
Then she asked if we have any joints documents to prove bonafide relationship , we showed her joint bank account, tmobile bill with both our name , power of attorney , lease , tricare health insurance , deers dependent (husband is in the army). I wanted to show pictures but she said no that she was fine cause she just approved my application for AOS and that i will receive my 10 years green card in a few days and i coyld apply for citizenship in 3 years . Then made me sign the I485 application review part and that was it . She said yall good to go and escorted us out chatting with my 5 years old abt school and Christmas .
The whole process took me 6.5 months . It was stressful but God did it for me and He will do it for you !
The officers are not all mean and cruel . I had the chance and blessing to have a very nice and understanding lady questionning me .
On your interview day, just try to be relax and make sure to show that you are prepared with all the documents and do NOT lie !
I wish you all the best and I pray that y'all get your green card very soon .
I did not hire a lawyer , I filed everything myself , God is the best lawyer you can have , just pray and wait on him .
Do not hesitate to ask me questions .
God bless you guys.
