12/06/19 Interview date - 10:45AM, we arrived 20 minutes before and quickly checked in with fingerprints and Interview Notice;
Approved on the spot - 20 minute interview - general questions off the application, asked how we met, what we liked in each other and also what in our personality was something that annoyed in each other, asked about out plans for next 5 years, asked for proof of marriage and i prepared a double whole punch folder with our joint taxes, paystubs, photos, bills, insurance, copy cards from our wedding, copy of cards written to each other); officer asked if i worked without authorization, I said yes; he asked where and how i was able to work? He asked if i overstayed, I said yes, Officer asked again the day of last entry and if i left the country while out of status- I haven’t. They had all the answers in the application but as part of the procedure ask them again and expect true answers. His tone was very calming and comforting to sit there; The officer said that we look like a true couple and he is ready to approve us) we didn’t get any paper from the officer that day but the verbal approval; but later around 4:30pm we got notification that GC is being produced.

Guys given that I overstayed i was very anxious and we hired a lawyer to submit the case for us. Their participation was minimal to none after the app was submitted. We did all and they only returned back to NBC our RFIE. I dont know whether our case moved faster because there was a law firm representing us or we were lucky. But even at the interview the lawyers sat at the back and there was no word he said the whole time; it was comforting to know that someone will back up if needed; but we passed all without additional assistance. I cant recommend or discourage for having a lawyer; wish you all same quick turnaround and please don’t hesitate to ask any questions as i would gladly answer all i can!
