End of my long painful journey
Hi All,
Today I received my 10 years green card. I has been a very long and painful journey, and I would like to thank everyone on this forum for your support and sharing useful information.
Here is a short summary of my application :
1. Sept 2017 - we submitted concurrent I-130 and I-485 ( Married to USC and I was on F1 visa)
2. December 2017 - we had our first interview, went well and short, officer said we would get card in 2 weeks
(I waited for about 3 months and I did not receive anything, I made several service requests and infopass, but I was always told my case was still pending)
3. June 2019 - I contacted congressman office, they USCIS said case was sent to NRC for review and we should expect an answer in 3 months,
4. Sep 2019 after 3 months wait, I contacted congressman office again, USCiS said to wait another 3 months,
My lawyer suggested to sue USCIS, I pushed back and suggested to contact ombudsman office first.
5. Oct 2019 - beginning of month, my lawyer contacted Ombudsman and mentioned we are considering a law suit.
6. Oct 2019 - end of months USCIS sent notice for 2nd interview.
7. Dec 2019 - we had our second interview, it took about an hour, officer was very tough .
At the end my lawyer told me everything is good.
8. Last week my case was approved and today I received my 10 years green card.
To you all waiting, don't loose hope, and get active, call your congressman/woman, and ombudsman, keep pushing , eventually someone will look into your case.
