Waiting for green card!
Had my interview 10:30am on Thursday at Kansas city. The IO was really nice and made us feel real comfortable very quickly. We felt at ease, so the nerves went away.
We did the oath and sat down. He started to tell us to take a deep breath and it's not gonna be like the movies. He made us laugh alot.
He then started to go through the I-130 and i-1485 to confirm the information on them, then began to ask the yes/no questions on i-485. The only personal questions he asked us was how we met? and if my family came to the wedding? ...that's it! Didn't even ask for any originals or passport, which I thought was kinda odd ...and didn't ask for any more bonafide evidence...I'm thinking it's because I front loaded my application when I submitted it.
The only thing he asked for was my medical. It's seems like he already made up his mind before we even stepped in his office. The interview lasted for about 20 minutes...At the end he said I don't have to worry anymore because he is recommending me for approval! 3:00pm later that day my status changed to "New card is being produced"! We were happy and relieved, a big weight has been lifted.
Today both my i-485 and i-130 updated on my case status to "Case was Approved". So I am now waiting for the green card in the mail. The whole process took 4 months!
This forum and doing ALOT of research has been really helpful going through this whole process. Gave me alot of confidence to file everything on my own, without the help of a lawyer. Also my case was pretty straightforward. I will definitely stay around for awhile and pay it forward and advise anybody that needs help with anything.
