Adjustment of Status - I-485

my interview with my wife was scheduled for 14th Feb. ,2019 by 12.30pm,all ready and prepared, but early on that day, my wife's grandmother had a medical emergency at home (cancer patient), my wife had to go see her because she was an RN and her caregiver, due to this we were running out of time for the interview, I could not tell her to leave her, had to quickly write a letter to the USCIS home office that will be conducting the interview about the situation of things and we request the interview be reschedule, dropped the letter 2 hours before 12.30pm, on my way back my wife called that her Gmam is ok that we could go for the interview, got back to there office by 1pm checked in and waiting but was later told they cant accommodate us again. Wrote another letter sent by mail .but till now, we yet to have a rescheduled date .are we safe,. Granma died by march
