H1 Stamping @Delhi with Yellow Slip
This is how the entire process went:
-------
Me: Good Morning, ma’am
VO: Good Morning

VO: Can I have your passport?
Me: Sure, ma’am
[and, I slide my passport in the window to the VO. The VO flips through the pages of the passport]
VO: Can I have your I- 797?
Me: Sure, ma’am
[and, I slide my I-797A in the window to the VO. The VO spent some time reading the I-797A and at the same time, she was typing something on her keyboard as if she was making some notes or logging her observations somewhere. She spent around 2 -3 minutes doing this.]

VO: What’s your designation?
Me: YYYY X [something related to Data/Analytics]

VO: What’s the location of your work in the US?
Me: YYYY X, US

VO: Do you work in-house?
Me: Yes ma’am, I work in-house.

VO: What’s your salary?
Me: YYYY [told her my base salary + my annual bonus]

VO: What’s your highest educational qualification?
Me: Master’s ma’am. I have done my master’s in YYYY , from YYYY University.
[At this point, the VO pulls out the yellow slip, which she gave me eventually, and puts it on her desk. She get’s up from her seat and goes somewhere, with the I-797A form. It appeared that she wanted to discuss my case with somebody, but from the window, I had no visibility at all. She comes back to her seat after a couple of minutes.]

VO: There are discrepancies in your SEVIS records, so we need to do some further checks. At this point, we don’t need anything from you. The process will take around one week’s time.
[And she slides my I-797A to me, keeps the passport with her and also give me the Yellow slip]
Me: Thank you, ma’am. Have a great day [and, I make an exit from there]

Technically, 6 working days have passed, since my visa interview date. I have been checking the status on https://ceac.state.gov and it is stuck at the status updated on 2nd Jan (reads “Administrative Processing”). The online passport tracker says my passport is still with the embassy. I also checked the passport status on the customer care at +91-120- 484 4644 and they have told me the usual processing time is 7 to 10 working days. I hope the process completes this week.
