Interview Marriage based AOS
Hello everyone! This website has been very helpful for me so I would like yo share my experience as well. I had my interview yesterday in Chicago. (Please check my previous post for my timeline). We do have lawyer who filed paperwork but we did not take one with us to the interview, we felt there was no need. Interview was about 40 minutes. My husband and I share long time history so I was expecting such length. Officer started off by swearing us in and taking my photo and fingerprint. She was very strict at the first part of interview and did not smile at all. I should admit she was very young to my surprise. She asked most of the security questions and asked me sign the form at the end. The. She became more relaxed and started a conversation about how we have met, when, all the details about my husband’s previous marriage. We have two children together ao she asked a lot of questions about children. I have never violated my immigration status and have been here for 5 years on F1 enrolled in school. She asked me about a that as well. She checked moat of our original documents including GC for our daughter which she just got two weeks ago without interview. At the end she asked for any joint documents that ate new after we submitted the file in August (I ha e sent tons of docs and about 40 pictures right from the start). We gave her bank statements, bills, renters ins, Heath ins, dog ownership docs, call logs. She did not take anything else because she already had our lease, AAA membership, health club membership, sams club, membership, kids school registrations and sports activity registrations. She did not look at the photo album, she said just to get 10-12 photos and give it to her. She did not say anything, just gave us white paper and said they will hear from them with 30 days. If not we can call them in 120 days. Thats what the paper stayed. We were out by noon and at 5 pm status changed that interview completed and case must be reviewed both on I130 and I485. I guess I have to wait now as many people do. I hope to get decision soon. Good luck to everyone out there. I hope my post has helped in some way!
