To those who cannot get a joint bank account, I would suggest for you guys to get an ITIN instead. You'll be able to file a joint tax with your spouse using your Itin. Having that doesn't mean you're working. It's just for tax purposes. It will allow you to get a lot of stuff like, health insurance under your spouse name, auto insurance, lease, utility bills and other evidences you can present during the interview. If not possible, I know a lot of people who uses a last will and testament or medical power of attorney as proof of joint evidences. Hope this help.
