THE INTERVIEW
- Our scheduled time is 12:55pm, we arrived at 12:20pm and quickly went through the airport style scanning. sat in the waiting room and exactly 1:30 I was called.
- We were interviewed by a wonderful middle aged woman (officer Alloco) she is so sweet and professionally friendly. We took our oath and sat down she went through my paper work and asked 3 questions
- 1.) You have been married for a while why are you just filing?
- 2.) who lives with you in the house
- 3.) Who does the baby look like lol
She was taking notes simultaneously as she asked questions. She asked few of the questions on my I-485 Finally, she said “Okay everything looks good and I am approving you anytime this afternoon or latest tomorrow, so you will be getting the 10years green card since you have been married almost 3years and you can naturalize in 3years”. She walked us to the door and we said our goodbyes. While we were walking out of the building, status updated to interview completed, case must be reviewed.
- 20minutes later new card is being produced! Yippee. She did not give us any white paper, she did not take my fingerprint nor picture.
- We were very broke towards our interview so I could not even buy picture papers or afford to print on picture papers. So since we have a computer and printer at home, all I did was to make a pictorial story on my phone (Ms Word) and I printed on a regular A4 paper. Believe me guys she loved it and that was what she held back to add to our file. I showed her my baby’s picture on the phone and she smiled and said thank you for letting me see his precious face.
- Exactly a week after my interview my greencard was delivered
