Adjustment of Status - I-485

I have been an ardent follower of this blog for so long but I feel it's time to document my experience so far. The journey has been and is still quite frustrating.

PD October 24th 2017 (Filed concurrently i130, i485, i131, i765)

EAD Combo Card January 16th 2018
Applied for EAD renewal September 17th 2018
Received 180days extension on EAD November 2018
Notice of Interview October 17th 2018
Interview November 26th 2018
Notice of 2nd Interview December 27th 2018
Second Interview January 23rd 2019
Expedite Request for EAD through Congreaaman June 25th 2019
EAD Combo approved August 10th 2019

Several SR both by phone and USCIS website, case stuck at background check.

November 2019, contacted both Senator and Congressman. USCIS responded that case is stuck on background check and to contact them in 120days (April 2020) if case is yet to be adjucated.

Case was out of Normal Processing time for so long but was shocked to see that USCIS moved the Processing time from April 2018 back to March 2017 with my city Atlanta now having a processing time of 35months.

This journey has been so frustrating. I am a I.T professional with 19years work experience but havw found it difficult to land a job because for I.T, they want you to have a GC first. Means you passed FBI background checks. So i have been doing Uber for the past 2years. It's so frustrating, the low income, constant body pains. Lord, when will this end? (In tears as i type this)
