My EAD experience
Hello all,

Below is my experience of L2 EAD (New) at Vermont

23rd Aug'19 - Case was received
30th Jan'20 - I765 was approved
20th Feb'20 - New card was ordered
24th Feb'20 - Card was mailed

I had 2 queries:

1) Is the EAD card directly delivered to our mailbox? Or does it require a signature? I read online that they had introduced ‘signature confirmation restricted delivery’ in 2018.

I am asking because we aren’t at home this week and will be back home early Sunday morning. Therefore, what do you recommend? Should we let USPS attempt delivery or should we put the mail on hold and then collect the EAD from USPS post office on Monday once we’re back?

2) I came to US on 18th August'19. My I94 is valid till 20th May'20 (based on my old passport's validity). However, my husband's L1 petition and my visa is valid till September'21. The EAD that I have received is valid only till 20th May'20 (based on the old I-94). My passport is already renewed and I'll have a new I-94 with validity till September'21.
Considering that I got my EAD valid only for 3.5 months, what would you suggest is the best way forward for me? Should I apply for a renewal as soon as I receive my new card? Is there any other way to fasten the process so that I don't get a break in my work after May'20 (when my EAD expires) considering the approval timeline of 5-7 months at Vermont?

Thanks for the help - This forum has been quite useful in my EAD experience. Wish I had found it earlier, else I would not have made the mistake of traveling to US on my old passport.
