AOS Interview SF Field Office
Hello Everyone!

Just had our interview this afternoon. I was so stressed last night since I came home with the chills and a 101 fever. I was so afraid that I won't be able to make it to the interview today but my fever broke this morning, and even though my stomach was unsettled the whole day today, we were able to make it through ok :-)

AOS through marriage to a USC. Filed in SF. Handled through NBC.

Interview Experience: (SJ Field Office)

Sibling stated interview was total of 20 minutes. IO just asked some basic yes/no questions and where they lived. (They currently live in two different places about 4 hours apart.)
After about 15 minutes of questioning, the IO was done with questions and handed them white paper saying under review for 120 days but IO says it should get approved much quicker than that.

Later that evening got notice that new card is being produced. Sibling was relieved not that many questions. They only looked at her passports and EAD. She printed a bunch of other documentation that she offered IO but he said it wasn't necessary. She actually felt that he was rushing them out the door.

Interview Experience: (SF Field Office)

Got there around 50 minutes prior to interview time since I saw a line outside the building the day before. (My work is just an 9 min short walk to the USCIS office) Hubby, who was biking from his work, didn’t get there till 30 minutes before…which was fine as the line had actually dissipated by then.

Once we went through security, we checked in at the second floor. The officer then called us for the interview a little early…which was fine.

She was very friendly….but also very thorough. The whole time was like a friendly conversation. She went through both applications and asked questions about our family, joint accounts, my history in the US, how I worked without authorization, etc. The whole interview took about an hour. She took all of the joint proof that we brought and asked us to pick 10 pictures to give them. She then said that she’s giving us the paper and they need to run background check or final review and that we should find out within a month or so regarding the decision.

Thanks again to everyone here for the support and sharing your experiences. It truly did help me through this very stressful process.
