Travelling on EAD/AP

I have my valid EAD/AP card, I-485 pending.
My husband (USC) and I are planning to travel to Mexico for a week or so. (Have not booked anything).
Instead of searching on google and finding anything misleading, I wanted to ask on this forum if it would be ok to go to Mexico (Cancun area) on AP?
Just wondering if there might be any repercussions of me travelling on AP.
