Losing job just before green card interview
Friends,
I want to check what are your thoughts on the following.
Wife and I had a green card interview canceled due to coronavirus, mid March. We are still waiting for new date.
My wife is on L1.
Let's say this situation goes on for a longer period of time, and economy tanks further, and my wife loses her job, what happens to the interview? Do we still go if its scheduled?
Can she search for a new job? Are you allowed to apply for unemployment in this case, or is that a big no, no?
I know this is isn't a pleasant thought, but I want to run the worst case scenario with you all. Thank you in advance.
