My parents in law went for their interview on 14 june and were granted 10 yrs visa.
The questions that were asked were:
Why do you want to go?
When do u plan to go?
what does your son in India do?
and my father in law was asked Where were you working last before you retired?
They met with a person in the consulate wose son was in the us and had been married for quite some time and had no kids.
He was asked "Why does your son have no kids even after so many years of marriage?"
The answer he gave was " ASK THEM, IT IS NOT MY PROBLEM WHY THEY DONT HAVE KIDS... IT IS THEIR PROBLEM NOT MINE!"
this was the flat answer he gave to the co.
She also staarted laughing at such a straight answer.
But it is advisable not be so straight to the point. You never know in what mood the co is in and may not grant the visa.
This person got a 10 year visa.
My parents were not asked for any documents at all.
Thanks to everyone, this site really helped us a lot
