My US citizenship application took a total of 3 and half months. The entire process was very easy and straightforward. I got the naturalization certificate on the same day. Be sure to take some reading materials with you on the interview day because it's not fun sitting for 3 hours doing nothing. Be very familiar with your application, especially the last few pages where you have to check yes or no. The interviewer will ask you to answer yes or no to all those questions again during the interview. The civic part was a breeze, I was asked the following questions:
1, how long do we elect a president?
2, what's one of the longest river in the US?
3, who lived in the US before the Europeans got here?
4, when was the declaration of independence adopted?
5, who is the speaker of the house right now?
6, what do we call the first 10 amendments?

Then I was asked to read the sentence "where is the white house?" and write "the white house is in Washington DC."

after that the interviewer congratulated me and told me to wait for my name to be called for the oath ceremony. The whole thing took about 5 hours, the interview took 10 minutes.

Good luck guys, this is where the American Dream really begins.
