Hi everyone,

I came to the US on H4 and then converted to F1 while in the US, hence does not have a physical visa stamp in my passport. After graduation, I started working with a Big 4 public accounting firm on OPT ( EAD expires August 31st) and the firm already filed for my H1-B and got a reciept # for the premium processing (If everything goes well, I will get the approval in 15 days). Since my sister's wedding is fixed for July 17th, I'd really like to travel to India and come back on August 1st (one month before my OPT expires). I can even get a cap-gap approved by my university which would extend my OPT till September 31st. Could someone please adivce me on how to approach the situation. I know that I will have to get the F-1 visa stamped on my passport before I could possibly travel back to the US. But, I guess my question is, is there a chance of getting rejected? If so I will have to stay in India till end of September to travel back to US, which my employer would be not willing to accept. Please respond at the earliest.

Regards,
Daniel
