Hello Everyone
Thanks for everyone for sharing the valuable experience onH1B stamping.
Its my turn now to share the experience.
Attend the OFC on Dec 18th 2014 and it was pretty straight as follows:
1) Arrived 1 hour earlier to the appointment time. Just 30 minutes should be more than enough as they let us in just 10 minutes prior to the appoinment
2) Please have your passport, appoinment confirmation page,DS160 document (It is recommened to take all the documents while we go to the interview to the consulate next day..In my opinion passport, appoinment confirmation and ds160 are required)
3) Appoinment Confirmation will be checed prior letting you in to the room where the security screening will take place
4) Passed the security and you will be given a token and you will be seated
5) Please proced to the counter when its your turn
6)passport,appoinment confirmation,ds160 will be taken
7) Fingerprints followed by a photograph and quick question ...why are you going to the USA..Answered it!
8) you will have your DS160 confirmation page stamped and this should be securely stored and presented at the next day when you appear for the consulate interview
9) Exit the building
For the consulate interview :
Arrived near the US Consulate an hour earlier ...They will only let you in just 30 minutes earlier to the appointment time.
1) All the candidates appearing for the interview are lined up and verifed the documents starting with DS160,Passport and Appoinment confirmation
2) Passed through the front door
3) you will be seated in the lounge in order to get ready for the security check same as we do in all the Airports
4) You will be given the counter number while entering through the security check point... Removed all the items from pocket, shoes, belt and make sure you dont have any sealed envelope as we cannot carry then inside
5) Passed the security check and you will be seated in a lounge where you wil be moved in to another lounge from where you reach the counter for interview
6) watch the monitor for your turn.
Here you go ..This is my turn.
7) Stood in the line and there are 5 more out of which 2 are students and followed by H1
8) The F1 students got there visa rejected as the officer was not happy with them ..Felt so sorry for them and officer was kind of pissed with them and shouted which panciked all the applicants and so I AM.
9) The person infornt of me was from a MNC from India for H1..Just asked him simple question ...who is your employer ...Visa approved...wow!!!
ME:Good Morning
VO:No reponse as I expected as he was pissed of with earlier applicants
VO :passport Please
ME:Here you go!
VO: who is your employer
ME:Replied
Vo: what is your salary?
ME:Replied as per LCA
Vo: Where is your client letter?
ME: gave it to him and took a quick glance of it
VO: Asked for the documents like pay stubs, bank statments,I20 ,Project documetation
ME:Showed all the documents accordingly.
Here comes the much awaited golden words for months...Visa Approved and he just hopped the passport in to the next basket
left the place quitely and was really happy for all the day
went to have a good lunch and celebrated the day!
Note: For Contractors client letter is 100 % if not I can say 1000% that being said friend of mine got visa apporved with out Client letter with lot of scrutiny.
The rest remains the same confidence and accuracy of answers.
Please go through your LCA in details
You can email me at
