Eloped, tips?
Hi,
We got married on 2/25/15 (I'm an F1 student and she is a USC). We have known each other for a year now. I sent in the I-130, I-485, I-765, I-130 to the Chicago locker. I will keep updating these dates as we go:
3/9/15 - Mailed application
3/11/15 - USPS says package is delivered
We were slightly concerned about the interview? Since we are quite young and with my graduation coming we decided to elope - we wanted to avoid the whole stigma of being married while "still in college" or marrying "too young" so we only decided to tell one close friend who attended the wedding. However, all of our friends and family know we are in a serious relationship, just not the marriage part. We expect to have a ceremony 2-3 years from now which will serve as our wedding to our friends and family. How will this go by with the interviewer? We have pictures of us, but no bank joint account or lease or car etc. How will we prove it is a bona fide marriage? Will it look too suspicious?
