Have applied for OCI in India
My wife has applied for OCI card. First PIO card was applied in first half of Dec'14. Then in early Jan'15 the Government of India issued a notice wherein PIO scheme was done away with and we had to file OCI application. A new demand draft was required (one more step in the process). The office of OCI in Delhi informed us that we should wait before applying for the OCI as they had no clarity on this new scheme. Finally in the first week of Feb we filed the application.

Has been more than a month and a half and there is no change in the status - 'under process'. In the FAQs section of BoI, #17 states that it takes 30 days if no adverse information is available against the applicant. Does it imply that there is some adverse issue or is it normal for this office to take their own sweet time?

Going by the other posts in this section here I understand that it is better to apply from outside India. Further, can someone please elaborate details about the match-up process? What exactly does it mean?

Already 4 months into the process. Wonder how much more time will be taken!
