OCI for minor in DC
I am sharing my experience about the process of applying OCI in lieu of PIO.
It's for my twin toddlers( 2 years old) in Washington DC.
Filled in online application. My kids PIO VALIDITY was lifelong but then it accepts only the date in pio validity column, so I entered the longest date available in their calendar.
Filled in application together for both my kids, but system generated TWO different file numbers.
Kids thumb imprint on Part A, disclaimer form.
Parents sign on part b, parental authorization form & additional particulars form. Part B & parental authorization forms should be notarized..can get NOTARY SIGNATURE IN TD bank, even you don't have relation with that bank.
Two separate Money order for 35$ , 20$ towards fees & 15$ towards return shipment.
Photos taken by me at home( cost saving). Included all supporting documents as mentioned in checklist. 1 set of document is required for Washington DC. But you need to include two sets of checklist.
Our visa's was expiring in August, but they accepted stating visa should be valid for 3 months at the time of applying not during the entire process.
Again DL was also expiring in August , as per their site it should have 6 months validity at the time of applying, so I had sent Electric bill.
Shipped two applications together as a SINGLE package in USPS. sent on saturday but tracking was not visible on saturday but it was available from sunday. USPS Tracking is always hit & miss.
