L2 EAD..wanted to share it with you ...
Folks...i have been wanting to share my experience and today i just received the notification that my card has been dispatched... First of all i need to say Thanks to USCIS...let me begin by saying am an L2 dependent and my wife is the primary visa holder...sounds different right...yeah...not many guys take the risk but i didnt want my wife to lose her opportunity and at the same time i didnt want to be separated...so took the risk and here I am...please follow below instructions and you will definitley not miss anything...

May 16th Reached US...

May 18th applied for my SSN ( got it by 22nd May) very quick though...

May 20th...Filled the online application form I765...many say that its better to send paper application blah blah...but it doesnt make any difference....there might be few ppl whose I765 might ave been delayed ...but it will not be for this reason....also please do not get demotivated to see others EAD coming early than yours....

May 21st: sent the supporting documents required for EAD...you need to be very careful when u send these documents...make sure u do not send the application again..you just need to attach the acknowledgement copy...along with it please send your passport copy ,I94, visa copy, marriage certificate..along with it please send your L1 visa /passport copy and I94.... if you forget to attach your I94 then u will be asked for RFE later on which might delay the proces.s..also attache your L1 offer letter, imigration forms like I797 ...please send your passport size photo (make sure you follow the background color etc..u photo might get rejected if over exposed)once these documents are sent... all done.... Relax...

May 30th : Received letter for BIometrics (dtd June 11th)..again people say that if u send paper application u will not have biometrics etc.... its all case to case basis... so worry not...

June 11th : BIo metrics completed... its not a big deal at all.. it takes 1 hr including the waiting time...

Now the wait begins... your application status will say "case received and we will come back to you if required"...

Dont get tensed...it takes minimum 40 days from your biometrics date to get the status changed...again case by case basis it get approved quicker.. so finish off other works like opening bank account, license etc... you can also have a look at the job portals and understand the market... Being a MEchanical Engineer it is even more difficult for me... create a LinkedIn profile if you dont have one and start getting connected....

June 22: My case status changed to "Case approved and notice sent".... it will again take 4 days to get you approval notice...if you have any interviews scheduled you can show them that your case is approved and just waiting for your card...but without ur case approval u cannot attend interviews... some people get "card under production" etc...i never got one though...

June 29th.: Card emailed to address..

SO friends...it took atleast 65 days to get the case approved and another 10 days to get the card physically...i have still not got the card though.... so worry not... if u follow these steps i dont see any reason why your card will be delayed...

Again am sorry for people who have followed similar procedure yet failed to get one...

Wishing you all good luck...hope i have made it clear..please reach out if you have any concerns...
