Marriage-Bases Adjustment of Status to Interview
First, if you are on this page then you almost don't need a lawyer unless you've had serious legal issues prior, issues with the law or extremely unique circumstance. All you need is read tons of experiences on this website and in other cases; website specific to experience at a particular interview center (where you will have yours - google and find one), prepare supporting documents as indicated in the application forms and mentioned by others on this forum. Additionally, prep yourselves (petitioner and immigrant), also necessary for both parties to get familiar with all the documents sent and shown as evidence. Lastly, couples should know each other pretty well - the rest should be history.
I was on F1 student visa, all the process below occurred during my OPT period - I was never Out-of-Status, thankfully.

Here is a breakdown of events and my timeline;

1. Form I-130 <plus evidences and/or other form(s)>
2. Form I-485 <plus evidences and/or other form(s)>
3. Form I-864 <plus evidences and/or other form(s)>
4. Form I-693 (sealed from Surgeon)
